TOURETTES REVIEW.

The whole of this years ROCK and BIKE show contained bands of stupendous quality and talent (in differing forms) and ALL the bands could have headlined this event, quality seeped through every nook and cranny as excellence followed magic, followed class, followed brilliance..........until we came to the TOURETTES....mmmmmmmmmmm who could follow the mighty RIFF RAFF..........the TOURETTES thats who!!!

Their brand of music is so diverse that everyone at SQUIRES were singing at some time or other and ALL the people most of the time they were on stage. The band are very accomplished musically TOM on lead guitar is a young man (by comparison) who is a brilliant performer belting out the riffs with aplomb, JASE is an excellent bass player driving the band along and JIMMY is an animated rhythm guitarist who loves what he does including backing vocals. ANDY is a great singer (who wants to let himself go more often) shy and retiring off stage but with a great voice, and they have a dr ummer.

Their opening song was Rock Show (Blink182) followed by American Idiot and 2 songs by the Kaiser Chiefs ( Every Day I love you Less and Riot)which of course had the drowned audience shouting for more. Cant Stop (R.H.C.P) was followed by Bitter End (Placebo) I like this song very much and the way they perform their whole set has a very professional air about it....they take their music/image very seriously.

The TOURETTES version of Sweet Dreams (Eurythmics) was their next offering again superbly presented followed by When September Ends (Green Day) They then launched into Dani California (R.H.C.P) which then took them into Slther (Velvet Revolver) this is my TOURETTE favourite and the way the two vocalists compliment each other on this song is really stand out stuff!! The set ended with Killing In The Name Of (Rage Against the Machine)a bit too rappish for me but put the lot together and you have a fine set of musicians who are also ALL good lads, who take pride in what they do!

Go see 'em I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Twice during the set the band were joined on stage by two guests (very good friends of the aforementioned drummer) who, (on both occasions) removed most of their clothing (much to my disgust??? and all the men around me). At one point i thought ANDY had 2 microphones in his hand and JIMMY's glasses were definately steamed up...so much so that he nearly fell off the stage (tripping over his monitor). The band tried to keep abreast of things as they concentrated on their thongs and continued to thing in tune!!

The crowd lapped it up and so did ANDY!! Contrary to popular belief ADY (who is a fine drummer and a good friend of mine) did not have the best view in the house (of the naked ladies)because there was too much smoke on stage and although his eyes were WIDE open they were stinging and he couldn't see anything (so he told my daughter!!). Not many bands are so popular that they have to have 4 bouncers on stage with them.
