Positive ID Escape Reality
There are ten tracks on the album and each are listed on the back of the case, as well as their web address, and photo on the reverse side. While listening to the tracks I found myself getting in to the tight groove that the band have, with my head nodding or foot tapping which could have been bad as I was driving at the time, but was a good thing because it shows that the back bones of the band are tight and have played together a while. The vocals complimented this by coming in with melodic verses and choruses, there were no growling like most bands would do on a heavier sounding album.
The recording of the tracks are thought out and you can hear this as there was no confusion on what you were listening to and there wasn’t a million overdubs that you know you wouldn’t hear live, sometimes taking away from what you hear.
The tracks that stood out to me were track three, Secret Well of Tears, I found myself skipping back to listen to a few times. Track seven entitled Heaven was another that made it to my Mp3 player, this is a good example of the melodies working with the song, the riff that kicks in is of Joe Perry standard and I wish I had come up with it my self. When the solos come in they aren’t sounding messy or over done, it sounds as if there has been thought to what goes where and what’s needed.
Overall I would recommend this album to all, the music is played well and isn’t over done. This is a band I will be checking out live, and recommend you do too.
